A little about us...

Carol Everett

Black and Hispanic women were considerably more likely to become pregnant than white women, and black women had by far the highest percentage of unintended pregnancies and abortions.
— Centers for Disease Control and Prevention

women in need

According to a February 2007 study by the Kaiser Foundation, 13% of child-bearing age women in Texas qualify for Medicaid. Even more shocking; at 52% Texas.

The Need:

  • Two-thirds of our clients may not receive any pre-natal or well-woman care.
  • The first visit to the doctor is at time of labor.
  • Over 1 million (plus undocumented) are at risk of an unplanned pregnancy.
  • Birth complications and infant and women mortality are higher because of the lack of pre-natal care.
  • Women living in poverty are almost four times more likely to become pregnant unintentionally than women with greater means.

Experiencing a crisis can prove to be a very difficult time; however, it can also be a turning point in life. You are not alone. Our desire is to empower you to carefully consider your future by providing factual information regarding your options.

Serving the Dallas Community:

The U.S. Census has named West Dallas as the 16th poorest community in the nation with over 23.4% of its residents living in poverty, earning less than $15,000 per year. There is a high rate of early sexual activity and unplanned pregnancy. 1.3 million child bearing aged women in Dallas do not receive any pre-natal care. The first visit to the Doctor is at time of labor. Birth complications and infant mortality are higher because of the lack of prenatal care.
