The Heidi Group is a non-profit organization dedicated to helping girls and women in unplanned pregnancies make positive, life-affirming choices for themselves and their babies. Our role is to connect girls and women to the best resources available in Texas.

Over 5 million girls aged 12 and over, and women in Texas are at risk of an unplanned pregnancy.

 

Founding and Mission

Founded in 1995 by Carol Everett, The Heidi Group opened its doors to support and expand the crisis pregnancy ministry. Since that time we have helped tens of thousands of girls and women face the challenges of an unplanned pregnancy.  Our focus is connecting women to existing pregnancy resource centers, creating a strong network among resource centers, and researching to determine how to strategically meet the needs of women as reproductive care laws change.

 

Projects

We maintain a comprehensive database of all the resources in the state to assist women in finding the closest resource to meet their needs. In addition, we are actively conducting research to determine new ways to serve the needs of these girls and women. Among other projects, we are in the process of establishing an 800 number to direct women to the closest life-affirming provider quickly via phone.

Funding

As a non-profit, The Heidi Group is funded solely by generous donations and grants from private individuals and organizations. We do not receive any funding from the government for our work. All of our support is accomplished by fundraising. Donations to The Heidi Group are tax-deductible.

Founder and president of The Heidi Group, Carol Everett is a three-decade veteran of the reproductive health care industry. The Heidi Group is served by a board and staffed by employees and volunteers.
